HALO Wi-Fi Smart Lock is a keyless entry electronic deadbolt featuring SmartKey that allows you to control the lock from anywhere there's an internet connection--no smart hub or bridge required! Using the Kwikset App, you can lock/unlock the deadbolt, program up to 250 user access codes, and receive notifications of your lock's use. This single cylinder deadbolt can be locked or unlocked by using the keypad or key from the outside as well as the turn button from the inside. This lock is terrific and worth your time/investment.However, I believe the majority of consumers will need a professional to install. I had an experienced locksmith who spent one hour getting it up and running. And that did NOT include time with the app. Best Feature: No smart home hub needed. Easy to create unique door codes - and then delete them on the app. Extremely intuitive app. A great solution for anyone running a vacation rental OR someone with children/teens coming and going.

It was super easy to install and setup! The only thing I had to learn the hard way was that I couldn’t set up codes for someone when I wasn’t near the lock. I don’t know if it was because I had a software update I needed to do or if that’s just how it is but once I figured that out my codes all worked.

The lock works fine and as expected. It was easy to install. I am having problems with the App. I was able to initially set it up but due to the two step authentication process am unable to make changes to my profile as the time it takes to get an email indicating my signin code is too long and the login times out prior to the email arriving.

I won't give Halo a 5 rating because it has disconnected from Wi-Fi twice and it won't connect back to Wi-Fi automatically. You have to go through the Bluetooth process in order to get Halo connected back to Wi-Fi. However the disconnection happened only twice during the first week of use. I have been using Halo for a month now. Also, it would be nice if Halo Deadbolt could be opened through Bluetooth by a password. Halo doesn't support opening through Bluetooth. Bluetooth is just for setup. If you like the Bluetooth opening option, Kwikset offers another cheaper deadbolt. Overall, Kwikset Halo is a great innovative product.

Really love this product. The only thing I wish it had that I didn’t realize I would need is a lighted keypad. The positioning of the porch light doesn’t help me visualize the keypad when I’m trying to get in the house at night, but otherwise LOVE this lock!
